Concrete is one of the most frequently used materials buried throughout the world. Precast concrete products help convey water without contributing to poor water quality.
Discarded precast concrete products can be broken down and repurposed. The concrete can be recycled to make new concrete products and the steel can be broken down, processed and manufactured into new products as well.
Additionally, discarded precast concrete products have also been placed near shore on the sea bottom to create artificial reefs. These reefs become habitats for a variety of sea creatures improving the ecosystem and also providing a rich environment for sport fishers.
